Very good book, explains everything very well and for a beginner like me, James chunks down the fretboard to make it easier to understand the patterns.
Lessons are well written and build on one another in such a way as to reinforce the previous lessons.
Well illustrated makes sense, im looking forward to start putting the notes into practice
Very helpful.
Ace in all ways
Really well produced and varied tracks (both with and without bass).
Very clear and helpful PDF with tabs/notation and 'hints'.
Lots of work to be done!!
My son really loves this book. He’s unable to take online courses. Maybe you can recommend more instructional materials to purchase.
This is what I need to sharpen my skills.
Interesting!
I have been playing Bass for a little over a year and most of my learning has been self taught. The Bass Guitar Foundations Guide has given me the answers to the questions I had been missing. I highly recommend it to anyone new to the Bass or like myself been away for awhile. Is also a wonderful book to get back to the basics. Thank You.
I was always unclear about how the notes in a song of a particular key can actually be played in the scale shape for that key. Also that it was ok to go out of the shape to play notes in that scale. The Bass Foundations Guide is a practical guide to playing in a real life setting and not just a lot of theory. I like the way James has broken down learning the bass into increments. Now it’s on to The Essential Guide to The Blues Bass Guitar!
This is the second on-line bass course I have tried. In contrast to the other, it does not pretend to be comprehensive. What I like about this course is that at the end of the course one learns enough to be able to create very simple but effective bass lines that allowed me to follow backing tracks I found on You Tube, premitting me to participate in actual music. Simple bass, yes. Satisfying, yes. I am now working on the the CountryTool Box.
They have been extremely helpful because I do not know wherelse to find backing tracks. I have been providedw with a lifetime of backing tracks!
Thank you ebassguitar, it's like having a small "library"
